G.P.S. (God’s Positioning System) Part 2 - The Map & The Voice
Proverbs 29:18 When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is joyful.
God guides us through the road map of SCRIPTURE (logos - written word) and the voice of the SPIRIT (Rhema - revealed word).
2Timothy 3:16-17 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
RIGHTEOUSNESS - normal, right, just; The state of being as one ought to be.
The Road Map is the GENERAL guidance applicable to EVERYONE.
The Voice of the Spirit is unique, SPECIFIC, personalized guidance applicable to YOU. (Ref. Ephesians 1:11-12, 2:10)
Romans 8:12-14 12 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. 13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.
14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.
Galatians 5:25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. (Ref. John 10:2-5)
1. Your journey will be UNIQUE. (Ref. Ephesians 2:10; Psalm 139:16)
It’s NOT always the fastest or shortest route.
Others will share parts of your journey, but each have their own unique PLAN that will make things different. (Ref. Romans 14:1-23; 1Corinthians 2:9-16; 6:1-6)
2. If you are LOOKING and LISTENING, God will faithfully guide you. (Matthew 7:7-8; Colossians 4:2)
3. God’s knows more than you and His plan will be MORE than your plan, so be open to interruptions to your plan (ex. stopping to help those broke down, to see the sights, maintenance, avoiding roadwork and tolls, etc.). (Isaiah 55:1-11; 1Kings 8:39)
4. God RECALIBRATES and redirects us.
There will be times where we intentionally or unintentionally SIN, by commission or omission. (Romans 1:21-31; James 4:17)
Like a good GPS, God recalibrates the journey’s plan to lead us from where we ARE (not where we SHOULD be) to get where we need to go.
God is a God of grace and MERCY; 2nd, 3rd, and 4th chances.
5. Doing things our OWN way (straying from God’s plan) takes us PLACES we were never meant to go EXPERIENCING things we were never meant to go through.
2John 1:9 Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
G.P.S. (God’s Positioning System) Part 1 - Turn It On
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.
1. You must TURN ON the G.P.S.
The G.P.S. is powered by (starts with) FAITH (confidence/trust) and SURRENDER (submission) to God’s will and ways.
Romans 10:9 So if you believe deep in your heart that God raised Jesus from the pit of death and if you voice your allegiance by confessing the truth that “Jesus is Lord,” then you will be saved!
We must settle the question: Who’s in CHARGE.
Matthew 6:9-10 9 “This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
The FOUNDATION and FOCUS of prayer and life is the supreme authority of God and His will and ways being best.
2. You have to know your CURRENT location and your destination.
Matthew 26:39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”
We resist what we do not TRUST or BELIEVE in.
Much of our disappointments in life and with God, come from our own SELFISH ambition (our will) being exalted over God’s will.
Unanswered PRAYER. (Ref. James 4:1-4)
Unfulfilled PLANS. (Ref. Proverbs 19:3)
James 4:13-17 13 Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
15 Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” 16 As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil. 17 If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.
Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.
REVELATION - God’s Vision
The place of FULFILLMENT and PROVISION is found in making God’s will and ways first in our life.
Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
RIGHTEOUSNESS - normal, right, just; The state of being as one ought to be.
I AM Part 4 - The Lord our Banner
Exodus 17:8-16 8 The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim. 9 Moses said to Joshua, “Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hands.”
10 So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill.
11 As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning.12 When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset.
13 So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword.
14 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write this on a scroll as something to be remembered and make sure that Joshua hears it, because I will completely blot out the name of Amalek from under heaven.”
15 Moses built an altar and called it The Lord is my Banner. 16 He said, “Because hands were lifted up against the throne of the Lord, the Lord will be at war against the Amalekites from generation to generation.”
BANNER - a flag or signal as a rallying point; a sign or declaration of warning, judgment, and of VICTORY.
Even though the Lord is their victory…
1. They still had OPPOSITION.
2. They still had to FIGHT.
- It was HARD and involved PAIN.
- They persevered through WEARINESS (Ref. Galatians 6:9)
3. They didn’t find victory ALONE, they won as a TEAM.
4. God will give unique DIRECTION for each unique SITUATION.
Jesus is our VICTORY; He is the SOURCE.
1Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
As a Christian, we are no longer VICTIMS, but VICTORS.
Victory is an attitude and action of FAITH, being confident in God (His promises and faithfulness to do them).
1John 5:3-5 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. 4 For everyone born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. 5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
Victory isn’t just a position it is a state of BEING; it directs how we think, speak, and act.
Stockdale Principle/Paradox: “You must never confuse faith that you will prevail in the end—which you can never afford to lose—with the discipline to confront the most brutal facts of your current reality, whatever they might be.” – Vice Admiral,. James Stockdale
Romans 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
“More than conquerors” - To gain a decisive and SURPASSING victory and to vanquish beyond.
I AM Part 3 - The Lord Our Provider
Genesis 22:1-19 Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!”
“Here I am,” he replied.
Satan tempts, God’s tests. The key difference is satan desires you to FAIL, God desires you to PASS. (Ref:James 1:13-18; Matthew 6:13; Luke 4:13; 1Corinthians 10:13)
2 Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.”
God is always at work in our life REVEALING those things that come between our relationship with Him and us becoming all He made us to be.
God is not content to be 2ND place to anyone or anything.
3 Early the next morning Abraham got up and loaded his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about.
Abraham KNEW God (His character) so well, he didn’t hesitate, question, or despair in his obedience to God’s command.
4 On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance. 5 He said to his servants, “Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you.”
Abraham had FAITH (trust, confidence) that God was faithful to keep His promises (Genesis 17:1-5; 21:12; Romans 4:13-17; Galatians 4:22-31).
Romans 4:18-22 18 Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” 19 Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead.
20 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith, giving glory to God, 21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. 22 This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.”
Hebrews 11:17-19 17 By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son,
18 even though God had said to him, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” 19 Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death.
Abraham held tightly to God’s promises and strengthened himself in his faith by reasoning FOR God instead of against him and by WORSHIPPING God.
Christians live in a paradox; we should be the most REALISTIC and most BELIEVING (Ref. Mark 11:22-25).
6 Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them went on together,7 Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, “Father?”
“Yes, my son?” Abraham replied.
“The fire and wood are here,” Isaac said, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?”
8 Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” And the two of them went on together.
9 When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood.
10 Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. 11 But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!”
“Here I am,” he replied.
12 “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”
13 Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. 14 So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”
YaHWeh Yirah - The LORD will PROVIDE.
Where God GUIDES He PROVIDES.
God will always give you more vision and more opportunity than you have RESOURCES.
He is reminding you that this is a work you are doing WITH the Lord not FOR the Lord.
Our life and work are now God’s and He COVENANTED to provide.
15 The angel of the LORD called to Abraham from heaven a second time 16 and said, “I swear by myself, declares the LORD, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son,
17 I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies,18 and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.”
19 Then Abraham returned to his servants, and they set off together for Beersheba. And Abraham stayed in Beersheba.
Our OBEDIENCE opens up the channel of blessing for our own life and the lives of others.
Jesus is the one and only Son, who laid His life down as a sacrifice that in turn brought the Lord’s PROVISION for our lives.
2Corinthians 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich. (Ref. 2Corinthians 1:20)
Challenge: TRUST and OBEY God, even in things that seem hopeless and foolish.
I AM Part 2 - The Lord Our Healer
Exodus 15:22-26 22 Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea and they went into the Desert of Shur. For three days they traveled in the desert without finding water.
23 When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. (That is why the place is called Marah.) 24 So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What are we to drink?”
25 Then Moses cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a piece of wood. He threw it into the water, and the water became fit to drink.
There the Lord issued a ruling and instruction for them and put them to the test.
26 He said, “If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you.”
YaHWeh (God the Father) revealed himself as HEALER and made healing a covenant PROMISE.
RAPHA - To heal, mend, cure, repair, thoroughly make whole.
Psalm 103:2-3 2 Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I never forget the good things he does for me.
3 He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.
FORGIVENESS of sin and HEALING are regularly connected as covenant promises. (Ref. James 5:13-16)
God prophesied by Isaiah almost 700 years in advance, that God in the flesh (Yeshua; aka: JESUS) would be our healer (Rapha).
Isaiah 53:3-5 He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
4 Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
SHALOM (Heb) - Wholeness, Completeness, Soundness, Stability, Wellness, Tranquility, Peace, Prosperity, Safety
In the New Testament, Jesus is the EXACT representation of the Father. He models and reveals God’s WILL and WAYS perfectly in every way.
Hebrews 1:3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
In the New Testament Jesus is the FULFILLMENT of God’s Covenant promise of being our Healer.
EVERY person that approached Jesus for healing was healed. Not one was turned away, not one left unhealed.
1Peter 2:24 "He himself bore our sins" in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; "by his wounds you have been healed."
IAOMAI - Greek equivalent of Rapha; to heal, cure, make whole, free from error.
Healing (spirit, soul [mental & emotional], body) is a covenant promise to ALL God’s people.
I AM Part 1
Elohiym - OT Plural Noun Masculine. Translated “God”.

These compounds names are titles that REVEAL additional facts about God’s character.
Exodus 3:1-14 13 Moses said to God, “If I go to the Israelites and tell them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’—what should I say to them?”
14 God said to Moses, “I AM that I AM.” And he said, “You must say this to the Israelites, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” 15 God also said to Moses, “You must say this to the Israelites, ‘The LORD—the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you. This is my name forever, and this is my memorial from generation to generation.’
I AM - (Heb. HaYaH) to be, to exist.
Revelation 1:8 I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Revelation 22:13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end!
“I AM” is the set up (pre-fix) for many other Compound Names/Titles for God; “I AM ___________.”
Jesus CLAIMED the name of GOD “I AM”.
John 8:54-59 54 Jesus replied, “If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me. 55 Though you do not know him, I know him. If I said I did not, I would be a liar like you, but I do know him and obey his word. 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad.”
57 “You are not yet fifty years old,” they said to him, “and you have seen Abraham!”
58 “Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!” 59 At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds.
The Jews wanted to KILL Jesus because they understood Him to be claiming to be GOD (I AM).
Everything GOD is JESUS is to us and for us; they are ONE. (Ref. John 1:1-3; 10:30-33; 14:9; 17:11, 21; Colossians 2:9; Hebrews 1:3)
2Corinthians 1:20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. (Ref. 2Peter 1:3-5)
God teaches the principle of OWNERSHIP not EXCUSE making. (Ref. Matthew 5:23-24; Matthew 18:15-17)
Matthew 5:43-45 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
When Jesus said to love our “enemies”, He took the EXCUSE card out of the deck.
In every moment and situation we CHOOSE what we will be known as and known for, children of God or children of the devil. (Ref. John 8:44; 1John 3:7-15)
God wants us to OWN our issues not ignore or shift blame. (Ref. James 1:13-15; 1John 1:9; James 5:16)
FAILING FORWARD = learning from mistakes.
When confronted with our wrongs, we have a choice to BLOW up or GROW up.
Proverbs 28:13 Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
We are no longer hiding from who we used to be or our present struggles, but are able to FACE them, own them, and MOVE past them (grow from them).
The peace, comfort, confidence, freedom, strength, and wholeness we seek is found in the LIGHT.
1John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
We become stronger, healthier, whole as God PURIFIES our life from SIN (less than best).
Invest Part 4
Isaiah 61:1-4 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, 2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.
4 They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.
This is the prophetic commission of the ministry of Jesus and His PEOPLE. (Ref. Luke 4:18-19)
We have a ministry to our city (COMMUNITY) to be a DISPLAY of God’s splendor.
We are to be LEADERS of Righteousness (Heb. normal, right, just; the state of him/her who is as he/she ought to be).
We are to be REBUILDERS, restorers, and RENEWERS. (John 3:16-17)
Serving those in NEED.
Matthew 25:34-36 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.
35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
As Christians we are to be CONTRIBUTORS not just CONSUMERS.
Titus 3:8, 14 8 This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.
14 Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good,in order to provide for urgent needs and not live unproductive lives.
“URGENT” (Gk) - what one cannot do without; necessary, indispensable, pressing.
Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Our good deeds are to make God FAMOUS, by showing His dignity and excellence.
Invest Part 3
1Timothy 1:2 To Timothy my true son in the faith: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
Titus 1:4 To Titus, my true son in our common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.
Whether family or friends, God will bring people into your life for RELATIONSHIP.
Your relationships (family and friends) are of highest PRIORITY in life, second only to your relationship with God. (Ref. 1Timothy 3:1-13)
Deuteronomy 6:1-9 These are the commands, decrees and laws the Lord your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess,
2 so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the Lord your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life.
3 Hear, Israel, and be careful to obey so that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, promised you.
4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.
7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
1. What comes out in your relationships is birthed out of your SPIRITUALITY
2. This investment is to be something that is INTENTIONAL (on PURPOSE) and it COSTS.
Luke 16:9 I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.
3. Your own EXAMPLE counts. (Ref. Titus 2:1-8)
2Timothy 2:10-11 You, however, know all about my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance, 11 persecutions, sufferings—what kinds of things happened to me in Antioch, Iconium and Lystra, the persecutions I endured. Yet the Lord rescued me from all of them.
4. Relationships and spiritual investment are built in EVERYDAY life.
Romans 12:10, 15 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
5. There is a ripple effect as you invest in relationships for GENERATIONS to come.
Matthew 16:26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?
Luke 16:13-15 13 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
14 The Pharisees, who loved money, heard all this and were sneering at Jesus.15 He said to them, “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of others, but God knows your hearts. What people value highly is detestable in God’s sight.
As Christians, we have a different VALUE (priority) system in how and where we spend our lives.
Matthew 6:19-21 19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Jesus teaches us to invest our lives through the lens of ETERNITY and that there is an eternal REWARD to gain or lose.
Matthew 19:16-29 16 Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?”
17 “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”
18 “Which ones?” he inquired. Jesus replied, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, 19 honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’”
20 “All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?”
21 Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
22 When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.
23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
25 When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?”
26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
27 Peter answered him, “We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?”
28 Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.
Jesus teaches us to PRIORITIZE the use of our time, talents, and treasures on that which is ETERNAL.
John 6:26-27 26 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill.
27 Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”
Jesus promises there is an eternal REWARD that He will give according to what each person has done.
Matthew 16:26-27 26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?
27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.
